United Airlines has been on a journey to transform its brand, and we’re proud to be along for the ride!
United's New Livery
The entire United Airlines fleet will be coated
779 mainline aircraft
569 regional aircraft
“United created a new brand color palette and three of those shades - Rhapsody Blue, United Blue and Sky Blue – were chosen for a fresh look which also pays respect to United’s heritage.” Robert Mather, Strategic Accounts Manager
United’s entire fleet will feature dazzling new colors, thanks to our Aerodur 3001 basecoat/clearcoat aerospace coatings system.
To modernize its look, United decided to go “out with the gold and in with the blue.” Blue has been part of United’s identity for years, so it was important for it to remain a key element of the design. But it was time to show it off in a new way.
“United created a new brand color palette and three of those shades – Rhapsody Blue, United Blue and Sky Blue – were chosen for a fresh look which also pays respect to the airline’s past,” explains Robert Mather, Strategic Accounts Manager at AkzoNobel.
The first aircraft painted with the new design is a Boeing 737-800, which will be joined by a mix of other types of aircraft throughout the year. It will take a little time, but eventually all aircraft in the fleet will get the makeover.
Given that United operates 779 mainline aircraft – and the airline's United Express carriers operate 569 regional aircraft – that’s what we call a makeover marathon!
