AkzoNobel launches Aerospace Cabin Trends via webinar

February 24th 2022 sees the launch of our Aerospace Cabin Trends.
These Trends are a source of inspiration on aircraft cabin design and a starting point for the development of new colors and interior color schemes!

The Aerospace Cabin Trends are created to support designers through our innovative cabin interior solutions, which offers a wide range of textures, effects, gloss levels and color possibilities conceived to spark creativity to help find the perfect design and finish.

Stephie Sijssens has a master degree in Product Design from the Hogeschool Antwerp in Belgium, additional degree in Interior Design, and over 15 years of experience in color material research and trend analysis for the industrial markets. She joined AkzoNobel in 2006 and has since then held a number of design positions, working with leading brands in the Automotive, Consumer Electronics and Aerospace industry. As Global Color Design Manager she is responsible for the AkzoNobel Design Team since 2015, and in the lead of the design support strategy and development of the annual Color Trend collection ColorSurfaces.

Matt Amick brings to the Aerospace organization 15 years of experience working in Coatings and Films for AkzoNobel.  He first joined AkzoNobel in 2006 working in R&D as a Chemist in Troy Michigan and has held additional positions in multiple BUs as a Sr. Chemist and Technical Manager.  Prior to accepting the position as Global Technical Service Manager for the Aerospace business, Matt held the position of Business Development Manager for Films.  He has four published patent applications and two granted patents in the area of Film Coatings.  Matt has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Lawrence Technological University. 

Simon Elmes , Joined the AkzoNobel team in 2009 from the Aircraft distribution sector. Initially responsible for the introduction of water based coatings and cabin interior finishes into the UK Market, then expanding by establishing our business interests across India and Southern Africa. Simon became a director in the UK in 2015, focusing on the growing cabin interior portfolio and investment with design agencies globally, ensuring the AkzoNobel brand became first choice for designers & manufactures alike
